Trim 1/4 of peel from bottom of each grapefruit (to stabilize the bottom of fruit)
Place grapefruit cut side down on a paper towel for 5 minutes.
Then sprinkle 1 tbsp of maple sugar (or spread with 1 tbsp of maple cream) over the exposed flesh of each grapefruit half.
Preheat broiler, place grapefruit halves on a lined baking sheet and broil grapefruit until sugar is melted and begin to turn dark amber in color.
Let cool before serving.
