The Sugar House

Our beautiful sugarhouse is 2,500 square feet and nestled 2 miles out into the woods on our 570 acre farm. Once the ground beings to thaw in early spring the trees start to release their sap. The sap flows into our tubing system and runs directly into our sugarhouse. It generally takes 43 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of finished maple syrup. Then the race to make as much maple syrup begins. This is also the time in which we hot fill our freshly dumped bourbon barrels to begin the aging process of our best selling bourbon barrel aged maple syrup. Depending on Mother Nature our season is generally short lasting just a few weeks a year. Once the weather warms up and the sugar maples begin to bud the season is over.
